Bel-Aire Welding LTD. has been in the Southern Alberta welding industry for 18 years providing quality workmanship and products. We specialize in Structural and Miscellaneous Steel Erection as well as General/Portable Welding Fabrication and Repairs.
Our Owners, Darrell and Jody Bohle incorporated Bel-Aire Welding Ltd. in August of 1992. It first started operating out of a small 2,500 square foot fabrication shop south of Lethbridge until 1998. Having rapidly outgrown this location we began to look for a new, larger location in 1996. Finally in 1998 we purchased a 13,738 square foot shop on 2nd Avenue North, occupying 7,000 square feet.
Staying true to form, Bel-Aire rapidly outgrew this location as well and in 2005 purchased an 18,000 square foot building residing on three acres of land on 24th Street North. The original intention was to develop 12,000 square feet into production facilities and offices and rent out the other 6,000. It was later decided that to be able to meet our customer’s needs and grow the business we would need to build our own 8,000 square foot production facility and hae separate offices. This was built next to the current property where we now house our new office facility.
This new building contains 2,000 square feet of office space, a 4,000 square foot miscellaneous steel shop and the entire 8,000 square feet next door is dedicated strictly to production with a 28 foot hook height and a 160 foot crane-way. The raw steel enters the east bay door and exits through the west door in its fabricated form ready to load and ship!
We currently have 26 staff including ownership, management, journeymen and laborers; some of whom have been our employees for over 11 years! We have been involved in many local projects over the past 18 years and are particularly proud of the new staircase design and installation in Indian Battle Park. The custom built scale model of our famous train bridge on display at the Galt Museum is also a favorite.
Aside from being proud supporters of our community by sponsoring local hockey and baseball teams and players, Bel-Aire also offers a scholarship at the L.C.C. in the Welding Apprenticeship Program. This award is ongoing and another way Bel-Aire Welding Ltd. supports our local community.
Our owner's history includes Jody, a graduate of the Business Administration Program at LCC in 1994 and Darrell being a member of both the Lethbridge and Provincial Apprenticeship Boards, a Canadian Welding Bureau (CWB) Supervisor and a member of the Alberta Construction Safety Association's Certificate of Recognition Program.
