Dive into the past at Lethbridge's Fort Whoop-Up National Historic Site, commonly referred to as "The Fort".  The Fort has interprets the notorious whiskey fort, Fort Whoop-Up (formerly known as Fort Hamilton).  Through 12 period rooms, three interpretive galleries & ‘Voices from the past interactive elements pay tribute to and commemorate the legacy of the North West Mounted Police, Aboriginal people, the Blackfoot, and colourful scoundrels and events that shaped Western Canada.  For a picture of Alberta's history, for an historical echo, this Fort is the place to be!


The Robe Trade era is brought to life.  Find out about traders, prospectors, merchants sheriffs, reporters, cavalrymen, army scouts, Fort Whoop-Up scoundrels, photographers, or Mounties and other colourful characters that lived, worked and played at Fort Hamilton, later to be Fort Whoop-Up ... now "The Fort".
